During Babs’ tenure at Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), the company generated $40 billion with $22billion going to the Nigeria Government, representing 14% of the nation’s revenue. The contributions included the payment of $1.6billion dollars to Government as Company Income and Education Tax in 2014, which was then the highest income tax payment by any company in Nigeria's history. The Government had received from NLNG in 2014, income of N220billion. Contribution also included the payment of $2.1billion to Government as Dividend and Income Tax in 2015, popularly called the “Bailout Fund”. He led NLNG in 2016 to actualise the Bonny Bodo Roa which had been uncompleted by Government for 40-years, with the provision of N60billion support that has enabled the construction of the road. Babs also led the development of a 25-year Masterplan for Bonny , with NLNG contributing N3billion each year over a 25-year period and SPDC contributing N600m per annum.Babs secured $1.6billion International Financing and built 6 LNG Ships in Korea. The construction enabled training of 600 Nigerians in shipbuilding (30 worked in Korea for 2-years during this period). He also ensured for the first time in history, that tens of millions of dollars of manufactured goods (cables, anodes, furniture, etc.) were also exported from Nigeria to Korea. In addition, the contract was used to encourage the building of a dry-dock in Nigeria .During Babs’ tenure. NLNG became #4 ranked company (#1 ranked home grown company) by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Babs was also the arrowhead of the novel award of a $630m helicopter seven-year contract the first time in history by an International Company to a local helicopter company in Nigeria and in obtaining support by Shell Companies of $85million loan to enable the company acquire new helicopters .He was instrumental to the set up in 2012 of the independent IUCN International Panel on improving biodiversity conservation and restoration of the Niger Delta mangrove for the benefit of the environment as well as people who depend on it for livelihood. In 2011, he led the commencement of the global transparency of all oil spills from Shell Nigeria operations and 3rd parties.
